The ability to switch a camping light on and off by remote control is so useful it virtually becomes indispensible. Turn off the light in the tent or caravan after you have got into your sleeping bag. Turn it on again if you need to get out of your sleeping bag in the middle of the night. Even use it on the way back from the pub to find which is your tent!
