THE ISLAND OF MALTA
Malta is an English Speaking country and they drive on the left too. They are very pro-British and the Maltese people must be one of the friendliest nations on the planet.
There are more than enough facilities at the Radisson Blu Resort for you never to need leave it if all you want is a peaceful, luxurious holiday, but the island of Malta, and the smaller island of Gozo nearby have a lot to explore.
The Maltese coastline is mostly rocky and there are only 4 or 5 sandy beaches on the whole island. In that respect Golden Sands, the resort's private beach, is actually the best beach on the island (and it's right on your doorstep!), but the more adventurous should visit St Paul's Bay where there is a large area of rocks, gently sloping towards the water, that have been weathered smooth so they are ideal to sunbathe on. You can choose to step into the water at one of the lowest points or jump/dive off the cliffs. Most people start at the lower points and gradually work their way up to the higher ones as their nerve allows. It's amusing to watch the ever changing group of people hovering about the top of the higher cliffs trying to pluck up the courage to jump or dive. Going to the edge, peering over, pausing and backing away again. Although don't laugh too loud as that could be you next!
Of course Malta has all the usual Mediterranean attractions. From picturesque fishing villages with gift shops, brightly painted boats and sea front cafes and restaurants to the major town of Valetta. You must visit the inland sea, where a fishing village has a harbour and sea front, but isn't on the coast! Take a boat trip to the 'real' sea through the tunnel in the small mountain that separates it and see the amazing lighting effect of the glowing blue water in some of the caves. It can't be described (or photographed) to its full effect, so you won't fully appreciate it until you've seen it, but it is caused by the sunlight reflecting back up from the sandy bottom through the clear water and only happens at certain times of the day.
Although Malta has much more than the usual tourist attractions. It is steeped in history. In more recent times Malta was heavily fought over during World War II because of its strategic position in the Mediterranean. It repeatedly changed hands, being occupied by the German invaders and liberated by the British several times. You must visit the Malta War Museum to see how the Maltese coped with incessant bombing by the Germans. 5,500 workers dug a labyrinth of tunnels in the Maltese rock and at the end of November 1941 the Governor announced that there was enough room for the entire population of Malta. Amazing!
In earlier times Malta's history stretches back to the prehistoric era. The oldest prehistoric buildings in Europe are found in Malta and Gozo, its neighbouring island. You must visit the many museums and archeological digs that are open to the public. Anything else you have seen just isn't this old!
Not sure if you'd want to return to Malta every year? The Radisson Blu Resort & Spa itself will have you wanting to return again and again, and there is so much to do and see on Malta and Gozo that it will take many visits to see it all. If that isn't enough Vacation Owners can join a 'swap' scheme where you exchange your week in Malta for another anywhere else in the world. That means you are always guaranteed 5 Star accommodation wherever you go on holiday, and you are not limited to Radisson resorts - and the best bit? The Radisson Blu Golden Sands Malta is a prestige ownership. Your one week in Malta is worth two weeks in many other destinations.
This is a one time private sale of a one bed Studio Apartment with Sea View in the Gold season. It sleeps 2 adults and the sofa opens out into a bed which can be used for one child.

This is not the old-fashioned timeshare, which had a dreadful reputation. You are not limited to the same week each year, but can take any week in the Gold Season, which is from the beginning of October to the beginning of June. Times when Malta's weather is beautiful, but doesn't get oppressively hot. Or you can swap your week for 5 star accommodation almost anywhere in the world.
This is a one time private sale by a Vacation Owner not associated with the Radisson in any other way. Studio apartments with a Sea View do not come onto the market very often and when this is sold the opportunity will be gone.
